Impact of Performance Improvement Continuing Medical Education on Cardiometabolic Risk Factor Control: The COSEHC Initiative
DiscussionThese data demonstrate that our PI CME activity is a useful strategy in assisting physicians to improve their management of cardiometabolic control rates in female patients with abnormal cholesterol control. Other studies that extend across longer PI CME PDSA periods may be needed to demonstrate statistical improvements in overall cardiometabolic treatment goals in men, women, and various subpopulations.

The Hygia Project and Hygia Chronotherapy Trial: insights of we clinical investigators on the impact of the embedded continuing medical education on primary-care practice and improved patient cardiovascular health.
Abstract The participating doctors of the Hygia Chronotherapy Trial (HCT) are aware of the criticisms of its published findings, which have been unjustifiably misrepresented in letters to the editors and commentaries, perhaps because of lack of understanding of the foundations of the Hygia Project, in which the HCT is nested. Thus, our purpose through this communication is to highlight the unique features of the Hygia Project and HCT in terms of: (i) organization, management, and quality control, (ii) physician training/continuing medical education, and (iii) impact on every-day primary-care clinical practice spec...

Wound healing and treating wounds
Wounds are an excellent example of how the field of dermatology represents a cross-section of many medical disciplines. For instance, wounds may be caused by trauma, vascular insufficiency, and underlying medical conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and rheumatologic and inflammatory disease. This continuing medical education article provides an overview of wound healing and the pathophysiology of chronic wounds and reviews the broad differential diagnosis of chronic wounds. It also describes the initial steps necessary in evaluating a chronic wound and determining its underlying etiology.

Continuing Medical Education Pediatric Hypertension: An Update on the American Academy of Pediatrics Clinical Practice Guidelines
Although it is well known that pediatric hypertension (HTN) may lead to early-onset cardiovascular disease, it is often underdiagnosed and treated (Writing Group Members et al., 2016). The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, which tracks information on the health and nutritional status of adults and children, showed elevated blood pressure (BP) and HTN increased from 1988 to 2008 (Rosner et al., 2013). Previous United States (U.S.) guidelines were released in 2004, and updated clinical practice guidelines were issued in 2017 by the American Academy of Pediatrics (Flynn et al., 2017).

Medical Problems Referred to a Care of the Elderly Physician: Insight for Future Geriatrics CME.
CONCLUSIONS: The findings support geriatric CME for the common medical problems encountered. Chronic pain, diabetes, obesity and insomnia continue to be important unresolved issues previously unacknowledged by physicians as CME topics of need. Future CME focusing more on process of geriatric care may also be relevant. PMID: 23983827 [PubMed]

A Task Based Learning (TskBL) strategy in preclinical medical education
Adv Physiol Educ. 2021 Sep 30. doi: 10.1152/advan.00173.2020. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPreclinical Task based learning (TskBL) is a simulated learning approach in which focus for students is a real task done by a medical professional. TskBL includes standardized patient encounters and is helpful to provide Early Clinical Exposure. Our study aimed at planning, implementing and assessing TskBL among first year Medical students and comparing it to conventional method of tutorials in Physiology MBBS curriculum. This is a non-equivalent group quasi experimental study approved by Institutional ethics committee. TskBL was con...
